The Basics
If your application requires a forming or coining WIR's OTC Metal Stamping Program has the in-house capability to handle your production stamping with flexibility and realistic lead times that meet your design requirements. Our full line of presses can form material from 0.010" (0.254mm) up to 0.375" (9.53mm) thick. Extensive experience exists in 300/400 Series Stainless Steel, 1008/1010 Cold Rolled Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Brass, as well as specialty materials.
The key to WIR's success is our ability to blend the manufacturing processes. In addition, WIR has perfected the ability to engineer single and multiple side piercing, knurling, embossing, saddle forming, rectangular drawing, marking/lettering, and other innovative operations into the transfer press. This ability eliminates the need for costly secondary operations.

WIR also offer a few value-added processes are provided by the design of the raw material for metal stamping.
- Raw material can be preplated to eliminate secondary processing. Precious metals such as gold and palladium can be selectively plated in order to provide those properties only where needed.
- Thin strips of precious metal can be bonded to a base material to provide the same advantages of selective plating. These strips can be inlayed to provide a constant thickness.
- Multi-thickness strips can be produced to enable the manufacture of parts with varying wall thickness.
- Strips of hard tempered materials can be annealed in specific areas to provide localized ductility for stamping or for an application such as crimping.
Prototyping & Development
Who can turn your idea be into a working model, test samples, and help bring your idea to market before your competition does?
This is a good question and WIR's OTC Program is the right answer. The success or failure of a stamping project can be realized early in the process of a newly designed product. Selecting a stamping expert like WIR to help in the design, build and development of new products is the most important step to a successful project.
We provide a vast array of key components to that success: reliability, responsiveness, quality, and creative solutions. Our designers combine their experience and creative problem-solving abilities with state-of-the-art, computer-aided drafting and manufacturing equipment to provide engineering solutions to some of today's toughest manufacturing problems.

The Finishes
WIR's OTC Metal Stamping Program can provide sub-assembly completion, plating, painting, electro-polishing, heat-treating so that every aspect of a job can be performed from concept to completion. Some of the finishes available for stamped parts include enamel and baked enamel plating, painted, powder coated, resin coated or dipped, rubberized, ceramic coating, chrome plated, nickel plated, and anodized.
Besides finishes for stamped parts, WIR's OTC Program offers support for tool design and build, production-intent prototyping, and secondary operations such as aqueous cleaning, assembly, deburring, polishing, staking, tapping and weld assembly.
